On 9/11, I’ll mourn the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the over 6,000 injuries, the infrastructural carnage and devastation in NYC, and the humiliation of my country, all perpetrated ignorantly in the name of my religion. On 9/12, I’ll mourn the nearly 1,000,000 lives, the 10’s of millions of injuries, the infrastructural decimation in 3 countries, and the humiliation of my religion, all perpetrated ignorantly in the name of my country.

seriously couldn’t imagine what was going on their heads when they had to make the choice between jumping or burning to death. it fucking saddens me to think that the last decision they made on earth was their choice on which way to die.

I agree. Just sit and think for a minute. Don’t reblog yet, don’t keep scrolling, don’t change the page. JUST THINK. What would you do, if your senses were filled like this? If the walls were crumbling before your eyes. Fire everywhere. Smoke and fumes. Screams and sirens. You’re looking around looking for a way out but you know there is none. Imagine, your last choice on Earth was which way you would end your life. Imagine trying to call your wife, husband, child, mother, father, sister, brother, niece, nephew, aunt, uncle, cousin, boyfriend, girlfriend to tell them that you weren’t coming home. You would never see them again. Imagine. You see all of this. You sense all of this. Information overload. You decide to jump, because at least that way, you will have some sort of escape from the turmoil that put you in that position.

They jumped to there deaths holding hands, displaying love for the very last time. They didn’t give in, they didn’t give up, they held hands and jumped. Love prevailed.
The fact that love is still shown in our hours of need, the fact that love is still felt when falling to the ground, the fact that love is still felt whilst burning to death, the fact that love will always be felt is proof that the terrorists can not win.
Love will prevail, love will always prevail.

Now, ten years later, that little five year old is in high school. Here’s the 9/11 Ten Years Later version of “Heaven”. I warn you now, you WILL cry a lot

people are quick to judge islam on the fatalities of 9/11 but are even quicker to forget that muslims died in the towers too.

insaniyat:

In actuality, the number of Iraqi civilian deaths is much greater than 66,000. According to the Iraq Body Count, which uses deaths reported in the media, the current number is at 111, 673 (+15,000 with a full analysis of wikileaks reports). If it’s over 100,000 with only reported in media deaths you can only imagine what it would be like with the rest.
