By fashion I mean skinnys and a long vest top underneath a cute shirt in which your hijab is tucked in so your cute collar necklace can show.
In this little equation there are a number of things that just scream no. Your hairs covered yeah, ma sha allah sis, that IS hard to do, I completely get it. But your fine figure is still showing, your thighs, your hips, your calves. And yes, your cute collar necklace looks super adorable, ma sha allah lovely. But lovely at what cost? The expense of reducing chest coverage. Turban SCARVES with or without polo necks lead to cold necks AND zero chest coverage. Let me just go ahead and add, on TOP of that, you will, in the mind of some, sadly, be confused for a sikh (cold hard truth, it actually happens more often than You think). So in all seriousness, Who really wants any of these things?
So far Ive focused on the negatives, so if youre still not convinced Ima try this angle. Let me put it this way. Sister, youre a potential woman of Jannah. You will someday be someones doorway to Jannah. Your beauty can someday outshine the beauty of the hoor Al ayn. Who doesnt want to be that priviledged (and that darn beautiful!)?
As much as parachute swag may repulse you, parachute swag is the only swag that gives you maximum breezyness, maximum coverage and saves you hours of stressing over wardrobe choices. Most importantly however, youre pleasing your creator and imitating the true female superstars of this world, our mother Khadijah RA, our teacher Aiysha RA and the queen of Jannah herself, Fatima RA. SubhanAllah!
As opposed to following in the swag footsteps of cool welsh arabs and swaggy desi londoners, why not the women of Jannah?
I get it my darling sisters, its hard and you want to look good and youre covering your behind with long tops and your hair is technically covered and so is your skin and all of the rest of it, (these used to be my very own excuses), but once you taste the beauty of reeaaal hijab and real external modesty, you will fall in love. If you dont, make duaa that you fall in love cause once you fall in love, your life will change.
Until then, always in my duaas,
Forever your swaggy sister,
